Founded in Glasgow in 2016, anOrdain has grown from three people to a team of around 30, moving in 2025 into a purpose-designed factory on Glasgow's southside — built to develop new areas of production and train more craftspeople. At the heart of the brand is a conviction that designing and making are best done under the same roof: the loop between the two is the source of their best ideas. They have become known worldwide for their enamel dials — a discipline typically the preserve of only a few ultra-high-end brands — producing the finest traditionally-made enamels and pioneering within the field.

In 2019 anOrdain introduced what they believe to be the world's first fumé enamel dial: a smoked gradient that refracts light with extraordinary depth. Their six enamellers span specialisms including hand-engraving, champlevé, and porcelain dials (the latter developed in-house by Cara Louise, using true porcelain with vitreous glaze and hand-painted Super-LumiNova numerals). Other in-house capabilities: thermal hand-bluing of hands, bespoke type design, dial printing, cold forging, leatherwork, and strap-making. Member of the Heritage Crafts Association.

Four current watch families: Model 1 (dress watch in 3 sizes, the founding design — available in Enamel, Fumé, and Fabrik lacquer variants; the Fumé in Oxblood, Parisian Blue, Plum, Blue, Green, and Payne's Grey); Model 2 (field watch in 2 sizes, with Enamel and Porcelain variants, plus a GMT in the Fabrik line); Model 3 (experimental case housing advanced Method enamel in Aqua and Lichen). An archive of 17 discontinued models tells the brand's evolution. All hand-crafted to order with a waiting list; the Fabrik line is available immediately.
