Arsène Lippens Genève
Arsène Lippens Genève is a young independent watch brand founded in Geneva by co-founders Dries Lippens (CEO) and Alberto Boccaletti (Head of Marketing), with chief watchmaker Martial Cuendet breathing life into every piece produced at their atelier at Rue Adrien-Lachenal 26, in the heart of Geneva. The brand takes its name — and its founding spirit — from the co-founder's grandfather, Arsène Lippens, whose personal tradition of exchanging engraved watches with his best friend as a symbol of their bond became the philosophical seed from which the entire project grew. That gesture — a watch given not as a status object but as a token of friendship, identity, and shared history — defines everything Arsène Lippens the brand does: Swiss-made timepieces offered with personalised engravings, built around and for specific communities, and designed to unite people through shared values and lasting craft.
The brand's design DNA draws on a specific historical reference: the front grille of the Pontiac Streamliner 1941 — an American automobile of the immediate pre-war era distinguished by its horizontal chrome bars, streamlined geometry, and a sense of quiet mechanical grandeur. This influence is visible in the dial layouts and case architectures of the Scheletrato, Numerico, and Visionario models, which mark the hours with the restrained elegance of that aesthetic translated into Swiss watchmaking. Chief watchmaker Martial Cuendet brings the professional horological expertise; the founders bring design vision and a community-first commercial philosophy. The brand's stated commitment goes beyond craft: Arsène Lippens sees itself as a platform for serving communities, understanding their deep-rooted connections, and creating a sense of belonging and exclusivity for each group it works with — eventually drawing all of them into a single, larger Arsène Lippens community.
The collection is structured around four permanent lines and a growing portfolio of community editions. The Classico is the brand's classic three-hand automatic — a modern dress watch for everyday wear, recently launched and positioned as the accessible entry into the collection. The Artigiano is the textile dial line: watches featuring woven fabric dials made by artisans, each with a handcrafted character that gives them a warmth and texture unique to the form. The Visionario Flyback is the Swiss Made chronograph line, offering flyback functionality in a design that references the brand's vintage-American-meets-Geneva aesthetic. The Scheletrato Opaco is the skeletonised chronograph — the most technically and visually ambitious line in the range, with open-worked dials revealing the movement's architecture through a matte or opaque aesthetic treatment that gives the skeletonisation a distinctive, less conventional appearance. Community editions are a structural pillar of the brand rather than an occasional add-on: specifically produced watches for named groups including AP Training, Tokei Ronin, Charing, Courmayeur Golf Club, FAM, the Hong Kong Collectors Guide Club, Marina di Bogliaco, and Serafico di Assisi — each edition carrying the identity and values of its community in the watch's design and personalisation options.
