Fleury Manufacture
Fleury Manufacture SA was founded in Geneva in 2017 by Jean-Marc Fleury, a watchmaker with more than thirty years of industry experience and also the founder of a separate component-production company, Suisse Précision Composants SA, which supplies precision parts both to Fleury's own watches and to some of the most respected brands in the Swiss industry. The manufacture describes itself as a small, nimble Geneva workshop — visitors are welcome — whose philosophy rests on four values: independence as a family-owned operation; positivity in approaching problems and craft; harmony in its relationships with clients and collaborators; and respect for the artisanal traditions of Geneva watchmaking and for the natural environment. A percentage of every calibre and watch sale is donated to Pro-Natura, a Geneva-based nature-protection association working to preserve biodiversity.
In 2020, just three years after its founding, Fleury completed its first in-house movement: the FM01, a 27.5mm manual-winding calibre running at 4Hz (28,800 A/h) with 17 jewels, 40 hours of power reserve, and a choice of screw or annular balance wheel. The FM01 is distinguished by a genuinely unusual material innovation: its mainplate and bridges are made from a new, recyclable zinc alloy produced from recovered materials — an industry first, reflecting the manufacture's commitment to circular economy principles and sustainable sourcing. The FM01 is available to other brands and watchmakers as a supplied calibre, offered in a wide range of finishes and decorations: rhodium-plated bridges with 3N gold engravings and gold wheels; yellow gold bridges (2N or 3N) with silver engravings; rose gold (4N) bridges with silver; or black bridges with gold or silver detailing — each decorated with Geneva stripes, perlage, sandblasting, or combinations thereof. A follow-on movement, the FM04, adds a manual-winding chronograph at 3Hz (21,600 A/h) with 26 jewels and a 60-hour power reserve.
The manufacture's first watch, the Zen, uses the FM01 and was designed primarily for women: a 33mm case in steel or gold with a diamond-set bezel (72 VVS diamonds, 0.53 carats, plus 20 on the lugs), a spirograph-patterned dial in blue aventurine or white mother of pearl, and coloured gemstones representing the constellations of Orion, Ursa Major, and Cassiopeia. Materials, stones, and even birthstones or personal messages can be customised per commission. The second model, the Jean-Marc Fleury Chronograph, is built around the FM04 in a 40mm, 12.8mm-thick case (49.5mm lug-to-lug), with a chronograph minute counter at 3 o'clock, small seconds at 9, date at 6, and a day/night indicator also at 6. It is limited to 11 pieces per edition and has been offered in four dial executions — noir, sand, salmon, and 4N gold — as well as a skeletonised openwork version.
