Mount West Watch Co. built its debut collection, the Summit, around a proprietary mechanism it calls the Dual Uni-Directional Bezel — a two-way rotating bezel system designed to track multiple time intervals simultaneously, meant to bring a level of hands-on engagement most tool watches don't offer. Designed, tested, and serialized in the United States, the Summit runs on a Swiss Sellita SW200 automatic movement, a combination the brand describes plainly as blending Swiss precision with American innovation.
The design draws directly on the landscape of the American Mountain West: cases move between polished and brushed surfaces into sharp, aggressive end links, evoking, in the brand's own description, the shift from a desert plateau into steep mountain valleys. Every Summit shares the same architecture — a 39mm case, 11.8mm thick, with 200 metres of water resistance, a domed scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, a stainless steel bracelet tapering from 20mm to 18mm on screw pins with an adjustable clasp, and a screw-down caseback engraved with a North Star chart, backed by a three-year warranty.
The line launched across five dial colourways: Abyss, a deep blue cascading into black ('inspired,' the brand says, 'by the unimaginable depths of what is above, below, and within us'), Obsidian, and Treeline, all at 1,450 USD, and Snowfall, pairing a white dial with darker rock-toned contrast and a luminous glow the brand likens to a full moon over a mountain landscape, at 1,675 USD. Every version carries a date display and a luminescent 24-hour inner register alongside the primary time display.
The Medic, a limited edition priced at 1,725 USD, is built on the Snowfall dial but replaces its standard black indices with red hour markers, a deliberate nod to the urgency and compassion of medical work, over a fully lumed white dial for round-the-clock visibility. Restricted to ten units per production run, it is offered as a tribute to practitioners, first responders, and healthcare workers, with 10 percent of proceeds from each watch donated to a medical organisation of the community's choosing.
