Trenyo is the work of Ivan, a Bulgarian bench jeweller with seventeen years of experience who mastered the craft from alloying and forging through to micro pavé setting before turning to engraving in 2017, apprenticing under, in his own words, one of the world's foremost knifemakers and engravers, and going on to exhibit at knife and jewellery shows across Europe and the United States. Watchmaking followed the same organic path — tinkering with his own collection, then servicing, repairing, and customising clients' timepieces — before launching a brand of his own felt like the next logical step. He works alone from an atelier in central Bulgaria's Thrace valley, a region he describes as home to rebels like Spartacus and artists like Orpheus, and it is that same classical world — gods, heroes, myth — that supplies most of his inspiration; each watch, in his words, is an attempt at retelling one of those stories.

Every Trenyo dial is built the same way: sculptural, multi-level hand engraving in silver and gold, its depth achieved through deliberately layered relief work, then finished with grand feu enamel fired in successive kiln passes at 150 degrees Celsius. Across the range, Ivan works with the Swiss-made Manufacture La Joux-Perret G101, a dateless automatic movement with 68 hours of reserve, regulated to within five seconds a day across four positions once modified in-house; every finished watch carries a three-year warranty on the movement and a thirty-year warranty on the engraved and enamelled artwork itself.

His Unique Pieces series includes the Tiger and Dragon, part of a Lunar Calendar collection, depicting the two creatures locked in combat across 925 silver and 10k rose gold relief beneath a three-layer fired-enamel dial finished with a fourth luminous BGW9 layer, cased in a 40mm brushed 316L steel case on a lizard-leather strap, priced at €5,200. A separate, ongoing project, 'Achilles' Agony and Ecstasy in 12 Parts,' plans a twelve-piece cycle drawn from the life of Achilles; its opening piece, Achilles and Thetis, depicts the nereid dipping her infant son into the River Styx by the heel, worked in 999 silver and grand feu enamel, priced at €5,270. Alongside these unique and limited pieces, Trenyo takes fully custom commissions built on the same La Joux-Perret G101 platform, starting at €4,200 for a 40mm case and €4,700 for 42mm, each delivered with a suede strap, a leather travel box, and a certificate; commissions begin with a 40 percent deposit, followed by seven to ten days of design work and thirty to forty-five days of construction, with completed watches shipped worldwide by DHL.
