Akhor Genève is a Geneva-based Maison of Haute Horlogerie founded by Anissa Bader, whose founding philosophy — expressed in the brand's tagline 'Le Temps en Équilibre' — frames time not as a simple measure but as a state of balance: invisible, yet structuring everything around it. The name itself is richly considered. Derived from ancient Egyptian, 'Akh' refers to the immortal force of the soul, the luminous and enduring spirit that survives the body; the suffix 'or' simultaneously evokes the nobility of precious materials and resonates with the horological imagination. Together they form a name that signals clearly what the Maison aspires to: timepieces crafted with precision and guided by purpose, in which watchmaking is understood not merely as the measurement of time but as an art. Anissa Bader has articulated this in her own words: 'What interests me is not measuring time but understanding how it exists within a system of balances. Watchmaking is a language that makes the invisible visible.' The Maison is designed, assembled, and controlled entirely within the canton of Geneva, at its workshops in Meyrin — working beside master micromechanicians to craft pieces that are conceived with purpose, refined by hand, and built to endure.
The technical foundation of the collection is the AK10 — an in-house, hand-wound chronometer developed exclusively for AKHOR and manufactured in Geneva. The calibre beats at 4Hz (28,800 vph) with a power reserve of more than 60 hours, measures 31.30mm × 3.90mm in profile, and comprises 117 components and 12 jewels. It features a variable inertia balance spring and a stop-seconds mechanism for precise setting. All components are Swiss Made, produced via advanced precision machining, then galvanically treated and finished by hand to Haute Horlogerie standards — mirror-polished bevels, refined brushing, sunray Côtes de Genève, and a hand-finished gear train. The AK10 carries both the Poinçon de Genève hallmark (the highest distinction in Swiss watchmaking, requiring design, assembly, and control within the canton of Geneva) and COSC chronometric certification — a dual standard that Akhor holds across its entire collection, making it one of a very small number of Houses to achieve this combination at launch. The movement has been designed from the outset as a foundation for future complications: its architecture is conceived to accommodate moon phases, large date, tourbillon, and a day/night indicator in future references.
The collection's defining visual innovation is a patented dual-disc dial architecture that creates the optical illusion of a floating dial. The upper disc is suspended and anchored to the movement rather than the case, creating a precisely controlled space between the two plates — so that the dial appears to hover above the case interior, detached from its surroundings. The hands revolve around a central axis while the dial floats beneath them. Rhodium or gold-toned hands with luminescent tips ensure legibility across all conditions; the seconds hand carries a logo-shaped counterweight as a discreet signature. The AK10's case is a 39mm cushion shape, offered in stainless steel and in 4N/5N yellow gold. The collection is structured around two material families and two dial architectures. By material: Steel (polished cushion case, rhodium-plated hands, mechanical clarity), Gold (4N/5N gold case and buckle, sculpted volumes, heirloom presence), and Diamond (gem-set bezels and clasps, with light channeled, fragmented, and mastered, set by hand). By dial finish: Sunburst (a radial brushed surface that concentrates and scatters light from a central point) and Honeycomb (a geometric lattice structure that fragments the dial into faceted cells).
The full collection of 14 references encompasses White Sunburst, Black Sunburst, Bleu Azur des Sommets Sunburst, Vert Émeraude des Cimes Sunburst, Brown Sunburst (in gold), White Honeycomb, Black Honeycomb, Blue Honeycomb (in gold and diamond), and Vert Émeraude des Cimes Sunburst Diamond variants, among others.
