Havid Nagan was founded in 2022 by Aren Bazerkanian as an independent watchmaking project rooted in traditional design and mechanical discipline, summarized on its own site as 'independent watchmaking designed in Los Angeles, crafted in Switzerland.' The studio's approach draws on 18th- and 19th-century watchmaking principles — proportion, legibility, balance — executed through contemporary horological methods rather than offered as direct homage or nostalgia. Bazerkanian has been explicit that the brand is shaped by personal conviction rather than committee: each reference begins with an internal logic that stands on its own, developed without dilution for popularity or external consensus, with design decisions driven first by how a watch feels, reads, and wears on the wrist. Every Havid Nagan watch is realized in close collaboration with established Swiss manufacturing partners chosen specifically for technical precision and reliability, with cases, dials, movements, and finishing produced and assembled to strict internal standards rather than convenience — resulting in a deliberately small number of references, each treated as a distinct expression of the founder's pursuit of what he considers the ideal watch.

The collection is organized into several lines, each with its own stated identity. HN is described as the brand's vehicle for 'exploratory boldness,' encompassing its more technically and aesthetically adventurous references — including the HN02, finished in 3N-galvanized, Mitraillé-decorated plates with rhodium-treated, skeletonized bridges, built to chronometer-certified standards, and offered in executions spanning enamel dials, Grade 5 titanium, brass, and sapphire, including the 'Azure' and 'Ember' colorways. Notably, the HN02 is intended to be the brand's last purely time-only reference for the foreseeable future, with Havid Nagan stating it will focus exclusively on complicated watches going forward. Classic represents 'restrained modernity,' a more understated counterpoint to the HN line; Origins is described as a 'non-parameter abiding diffusion line,' a more experimental, boundary-testing offshoot of the brand's main design language; and Amanor, billed for 'contemporary wear,' is a planned line not expected until 2028. The brand's archive also includes the original HN01 'Lucine,' the reference that launched Havid Nagan.
