Marco Tedeschi

Marco Tedeschi is a Swiss watch creator and engineer, born in Geneva in 1985, whose independent house rests on an idea he patented as a student twenty years before it came full circle. Raised inside watchmaking — he spent childhood weekends winding mechanical watches in his father's boutique from age eight, discovered the manufacturing departments of Franck Muller's Watchland, and designed his first models for Franck Muller at just 13 — he trained in Watchmaking and Microtechnical Design at the École Technique de la Vallée de Joux (earning excellence awards from Breguet, Nouvelle-Lémania, and Audemars Piguet), then took a degree in Microtechnology and Surface Engineering at the Geneva School of Engineering. There, in 2006, he conceived and patented a central tourbillon with a long-power-reserve architecture — not a one-off complication but, as he frames it, the blueprint for everything that followed. The concept won him the Wilsdorf Foundation Prize and caught the eye of Jean-Claude Biver, who brought him onto Hublot's product committee before he had even graduated. He joined Hublot officially in 2007, becoming Product Director and Executive Committee member at 22, later Regional Director for the Middle East & Africa, while earning an MBA from HEC Geneva — and in 2018, at 33, was appointed CEO of Romain Jerome, where he created a patented moon-phase movement and transformed the brand into a manufacture.

In 2020 he struck out on his own, building a creator-led ecosystem in Gland: Kross Manufacture, a fully verticalized, brand-owned atelier uniting engineers, watchmakers, designers, and artisans (a dedicated in-house Decoration department followed in 2024), and Kross Studio, the creative platform that made his name with collectors through spectacular entertainment collaborations — the 1989 Batmobile Desk Clock with Warner Bros. (a 30-day power reserve); the 2021 Death Star Central Tourbillon Collector Set with Disney and Lucasfilm, finally realizing his 2006 movement and paired with an authentic kyber crystal prop from Rogue One; the 2022 Batman set introducing the KS 7'001 caliber with peripheral time display, sold with a functional Bat-Signal replica; and the Game of Thrones collection of central floating tourbillon watches paired with sculptural Targaryen dragon-egg art pieces — the floating construction, patented in 2023, raising the regulating organ above the movement as both technical and visual center. Kross Studio debuted at Watches & Wonders Geneva in 2025.

That same year he signed his own name on a dial for the first time, and in 2026 the vision came full circle with MARCO TEDESCHI, House of Haute Horlogerie, and the MT1.1 'Le Tourbillon 7 Jours' (from CHF 74,900 in black DLC titanium; also grade 5 Titanium ELI, 5N gold, and tantalum). His philosophy — Form Follows the Movement — is legible in every choice: a round, lugless 44mm case with no crown at 3 o'clock (winding moves to a rear crown, with a case-side pusher toggling time-setting), a domed sapphire over a fully openworked MT 7010 IRM caliber whose single oversized barrel extends beyond the mainplate's radius to deliver seven days of power, a flying tourbillon at 6 o'clock beating at a deliberate 3Hz, 245 hand-finished parts in lead-free nickel silver with ruthenium treatment, a closed caseback carrying his signature Zen-like concentric decoration, a power reserve indicator at 12, and a proprietary pusher-released interchangeable strap. It is the first calibre on a declared roadmap of twelve complications, each to be re-engineered through the mechanical language he wrote as a 21-year-old student.
