Moriarty Watches

Alison Moriarty is a Swiss-trained independent watchmaker and enamelist based in Ballyblood, Tulla, in Co. Clare, Ireland. A graduate of the Irish Swiss Institute of Horology, she became one of the youngest graduates of the prestigious WOSTEP Academy in Neuchâtel at just 21. She works alongside Mike Moriarty, who hand pad-prints every dial face on a custom-built Schmid machine, transferring ink to the fired enamel by feel without cracking it.

Her signature is grand feu enamelling, a technique she spent six years developing her own enamel mixes for: powdered glass is hand-mixed and ground with water, brushed onto a pure silver dial surface, and fired in a kiln at roughly 800°C, the process repeated until the colour and depth are right, then hand-sanded for more than 10 hours between firings before a final fire. Each dial takes around 40 hours to complete and draws its name and mood from Ireland's shifting landscapes — Hibernia's emerald glow, Marigold's glimmer, the quiet of Winter's Night, alongside Aegean, Mediterranean, Candy Pink, and Midnight Sky.

Every Sellita SW300-1B Premium Grade automatic movement is personally rebuilt and regulated by Alison to chronometer standards, tested across six positions and adjusted to within three seconds a day, finished with Côtes de Genève and perlage decoration, blued screws, and a rose-gold-plated oscillating weight; no finished watch leaves the workshop without ten days of accuracy testing first.

Offered in 316L steel at 40mm or 37mm, both 11mm thick, with a domed anti-reflective sapphire crystal and a choice of fully polished, brushed-and-polished, black PVD, or rose gold PVD finishes; lance-style hands are designed in-house, and straps are hand-stitched Horween leather, paired from 2026 onward with an in-house designed buckle. Every watch ships in a handmade walnut box, carries a three-year warranty, and is made to order from 4,250 euros excluding taxes and shipping.
