Oligo
OLIGO was founded in Geneva in 2022 by Olivier Gaud, a watchmaker who assembles every watch himself in his own workshop from entirely Swiss-made components. The brand frames itself explicitly as 'a statement of independence, authenticity, and environmental awareness,' built around a network of local suppliers and a deliberate preference for recycled and recyclable materials, aiming to keep its environmental footprint as small as its production runs.
OLIGO backs that claim with an unusually specific level of transparency, publishing its actual supplier list rather than just asserting local sourcing: cases machined by SPC Sàrl in Choulex, recycled steel from Panatere in Saignelégier, 100% Swiss sapphire crystals from Sebal in Bassecourt, dials from Comblémine in St-Sulpice, hand discs from Selba in Versoix, Soprod movements from Les Reussilles, the in-house FM01 calibre from Fleury Manufacture in Choulex, straps from ColaReb in Rome, and packaging from Jean Losey SA in Geneva — a genuinely tight, mostly Swiss supply radius.
The permanent OLIGO collection — offered in blue, black, and brown — shares a single architecture across colourways: a 41mm, 9mm-thick three-part case in 100% recycled stainless steel 4441, a Swiss sapphire crystal domed and anti-reflective on top, a distinctive floating-hands display finished with a chrome deposit, and the automatic Soprod M100 movement with 40 hours of reserve, worn on a vegan, PVC-free, fully biodegradable ecosuede strap. Each colourway is limited to 40 pieces, priced at 3,200 Swiss francs before tax.
Two collaborations sit above the core range on the same base architecture: OLIGO x Watchmakers United Monaco, at 4,000 francs, and OLIGO x Label Noir, developed with the Geneva customisation studio Label Noir, its bead-blasted recycled-steel case treated in black ADLC and its lacquered black dial dusted with some 24,000 flecks of gold — the brand describes the effect as viewing the Milky Way through the window of an experimental aircraft — priced at 4,500 francs, both limited to 40 pieces.
At the top of the range sits the OLIGO FM01, built in partnership with Fleury Manufacture, a Geneva movement maker whose hand-wound FM01 calibre was developed and produced entirely in-house, its bridges and plate cast from a newly developed recyclable zinc alloy sourced from recycled material in a short local supply chain, finished by hand with Côtes de Genève striping and bevelled, polished bridges, running 40 hours between windings. Limited to just 10 numbered pieces at 10,000 Swiss francs, it stands as OLIGO's clearest statement that fine-watchmaking finishing and genuine environmental responsibility need not be in tension.
