Christopher Wegener discovered watchmaking at fourteen during a one-week internship, and spent the two decades that followed building a genuinely elite pedigree: an apprenticeship at Rolex, eight years alongside F.P. Journe contributing to the Chronomètre Souverain, the Octa, and the Chronomètre à Résonance, time at Laurent Ferrier working on natural escapement and tourbillon constructions, and years within a discreet, highly regarded manufacture building minute repeaters and tourbillons for houses that never put his own name on the result. Pragma, the brand he founded, frames itself explicitly as 'not a response to the market' but 'a response to a standard': every material sourced and documented, every component chosen twice — once for performance, once for provenance — with every supplier named publicly, down to the exact percentage of recycled content in each individual part.
The movement was developed with Chronode SA, its bridges and plates in 100% recycled Grade 5 titanium; the case is built from Solar Stainless Steel, an industry-first alloy made from 100% recycled steel and melted using solar energy by Panatere; case and buckle work comes from Voutilainen & Cattin, also featured in this catalogue; and the strap combines 100% recycled Cordura re/cor™ with an inner lining of Ecovative's Forager™, a mycelium-based leather alternative grown in just nine days. Across the collection, roughly 84.5% of material volume is recycled, entirely Swiss-made. That movement, Calibre Pragma 1031-1, is independently certified as a chronometer under ISO 3159, with hours, minutes, a seconds sub-dial at 6 o'clock, and a date window at 12; a variable-inertia balance, 41 jewels, and 278 components run at 4Hz with 60 hours of reserve.
The P1 - Perseverance spans seven distinct configurations, its dials cut from stone — obsidian, azurite, granite, pyrite, basalt — paired with cases in Solar Stainless Steel, rose gold 5N, or gold 3N; 39mm across, 10.5mm thick, sapphire front and back, rated to 50 metres of water resistance. Prices range from 31,130 Swiss francs in steel up to 53,810 francs in rose gold, excluding VAT.
