Venezianico is an independent Italian watch brand founded in late 2017 by brothers Alberto and Alessandro Morelli, who were studying at Ca'Foscari University in Venice when they began shaping their idea: to create watches that expressed their passion for watchmaking and captured the authentic spirit of Venice — their hometown. The brand's name fuses 'Venezia' with '-nico,' a suffix used colloquially to describe something distinctly and essentially Venetian. The company is registered in San Donà di Piave in the Venetian hinterland, and the brand's visual identity, material palette, and design language are entirely anchored in the city across the lagoon.

The founding moment of the brand's identity came on a walk through Piazza San Marco. Looking up at the ancient Torre dell'Orologio — the Clock Tower on the north side of the square, which has marked the rhythm of the city since the 15th century and connects the piazza to the Mercerie, the historic merchants' street — the Morelli brothers noticed a golden Renaissance cross at its pinnacle. That cross, positioned at the crossroads of politics and commerce, at the heart of the world's most celebrated city, became the Venezianico logo. The symbol is a synthesis of multiple symmetries: four identical arms with rounded tips, enclosed within a perfect circle, crafted according to geometric proportions designed to represent an ideal of harmonious balance and timeless beauty. The cross does not stand alone as decoration but as a philosophical statement — that time, beauty, and the life of a city are inseparable.

Venezia's material heritage informs the brand's visual language in equal measure. Strength and resilience are represented by the Istrian stone that forms Venice's foundations — a material that has held a city on water for centuries. The grey sandstone of the paved streets and bridges contrasts with the shimmering gold of stuccoes, mosaics, and gilded ecclesiastical details, reflecting a people described by the brand as 'both creative and determined.' These material references — stone, water, gold, muted grey, warm earth — appear across dial colours, case finishes, and strap choices throughout the collection. The brand's design philosophy is expressed simply: watches that are simple and easy to wear, while maintaining distinctive character. Each piece has a soul expressed through iconic forms and a harmonious, original use of colour. In keeping with this philosophy, Venezianico produces exclusively mechanical watches — no quartz, no battery. Every watch is powered by a mechanical movement that comes to life only through the daily interaction of its owner, creating what the brand describes as a deep and personal connection.

The collection spans four permanent lines and a programme of limited editions. The Redentore is the entry line and the most historically rooted collection, drawing its name from the Festa del Redentore — Venice's great annual festival of thanksgiving — and available in a wide range of dial and case configurations that most directly reflect the lagoon city's colour palette. The Nereide is the dive watch family, named for the sea nymphs of Greek mythology; one of the brand's most successful and enduring lines, it is available in multiple sizes and configurations including the Nereide GMT, offering dual-timezone capability. The Arsenale takes its name from the historic Venetian shipbuilding complex — the Arsenal that was the beating industrial heart of the Serenissima Republic — and offers a sportier, more adventurous character. The Bucintoro is the most elegant and refined model, named for the ceremonial golden barge used by the Doges of Venice in the annual Sposalizio del Mare (Marriage of the Sea) ceremony, available in 36mm and 42mm and distinguished by its more formal proportions and restrained detailing. Limited editions have included collaborations and special dial executions in precious materials. All watches are purely mechanical, backed by a two-year international warranty, free worldwide shipping, and a 14-day return policy.
