Brew Watch Co. is a New York City-based independent watch brand founded and designed by Jonathan Ferrer — an industrial designer who studied at New Jersey Institute of Technology, where he now serves as an adjunct professor teaching students design and manufacturing. Ferrer comes from a lineage of jewellery designers, and before launching Brew he spent years travelling the world to work directly with manufacturers, suppliers, and craftsmen in order to learn the watch trade from the inside out. The brand was conceived in a café: it was literally in that setting that Ferrer began sketching and designing what would become the Brew Watch Co. collection. That origin is not incidental but foundational to everything the brand stands for. 'I believe in the daily ritual of taking coffee breaks,' Ferrer writes on the brand's About page. 'There are so many individuals worldwide that enjoy their coffee breaks — it's the perfect moment to meet friends, go on casual dates, and enjoy some personal time. The break is less about the consumption of coffee and more about savoring — savoring that very moment in time.' The brand's mission is to make watches that connect their wearers more deeply to that daily ritual and to the importance of time itself.

The design language of every Brew watch draws its visual inspiration from industrial espresso machines — those warm, contrasting colour combinations, brushed and polished metal surfaces, and the sense of purposeful mechanical beauty that characterises professional coffee equipment. The vented aesthetics on the sides, caseback, and crown of each Brew case directly reference this influence, giving the watches an industrial character that is immediately recognisable. The cases are CNC-machined from solid billets of 316L stainless steel, then individually hand-polished and hand-brushed on each profile — a labour-intensive process that ensures no two cases are finished identically. Straps are made from supple Italian leather. Every component is designed, engineered, and tested thoroughly before assembly; after final hand-assembly, each watch is subjected to water pressure and impact resistance testing to verify accuracy and longevity. The brand's design philosophy is captured in a Ferrer quote: 'You're never complete — you're always trying to chisel away the idea, make it smarter.'

One of Brew's most celebrated design details is a hidden one: the Metric's dial markers are positioned to subtly highlight the optimal extraction time for an espresso shot. At a quick glance the ordinary observer would not notice it — but for the wearer, this embedded reference reinforces the watch's connection to the ritual it celebrates. The current collection spans four distinct lines. The Super Metric is the brand's premium flagship — a larger, bolder expression of the Brew aesthetic with refined proportions and more complex case finishing. The Metric is the core and most iconic model, the watch around which the brand's identity was built, available in a range of dial colours and case treatments that showcase the full espresso-machine-inspired design language. The Metric Lite is a slimmer, lighter take on the Metric formula, offering the same visual character in a more refined and wearable profile — introducing Brew's aesthetic to those who prefer a less imposing wristwatch. The Retrograph is the chronograph model, bringing a pushers-and-registers format into the Brew visual vocabulary — its name suggesting both the retro inspiration and the graphical complexity of a stopwatch dial. In addition to the watch collections, Brew offers leather straps, metal bracelets, and rubber straps as accessories, all designed to be worn interchangeably with the watch range.
