Lebois & Co

French roots, Dutch vision, Swiss Made. Founded in 1934 by Raymond Dodane — third-generation watchmaker of the Dodane family, whose manufacture dates to 1857 in La Rasse in the Doubs — Lebois & Co was established eleven days before Christmas with a clear mission: create aesthetically pleasing luxury Swiss timepieces at an affordable price.

In 1940, the brand supplied chronographs as gifts to Swedish Air Force pilots collecting Caproni bombers from Italy; in 1947 the brand was given to its Italian importer; by 1972 production ceased, leaving it a coveted collector's secret. In 2014, Dutch watch enthusiasts Tom and Eveline van Wijlick discovered a Lebois & Co chronograph in a Christie's auction catalogue, printed the photo, and stuck it to their fridge. After contacting the Dodane family and receiving their blessing exactly 80 years after the brand's founding, they relaunched it. In 2015 the Avantgarde Date became the first luxury Swiss Made mechanical watch successfully funded on Kickstarter (126% of goal, sold in 20+ countries). In 2018 the Venturist became the world's first watch certified to Timelab's Observatoire Chronometrique+ (OC+) standard. The CoLAB programme (2021) brought collectors into the creative process, producing the Heritage Chronograph. In 2025 the Coquille d'Œuf — a triple-layer Grand Feu enamel dial (each layer fired above 800°C, hand-printed, unique per piece) developed with Donzé Cadrans — and the Heritage Small Seconds (COSC-certified) launched.
