Philippe Narbel is a self-taught jeweller who retrained as a watchmaker in the Vallée de Joux, developing exceptional skills in bevelling and skeletonization while working for Audemars Piguet. He founded Manufactor SA in 2015, a finishing workshop in L'Abbaye specializing in movement decoration for other brands.

In 2021 he launched Narbel & Co with the Roots — a 40×40mm cushion-shaped watch with a beautifully finished movement. The Skel-1 followed in 2023, skeletonizing a rebuilt Peseux 7001 movement with German silver bridges in black-gold or 5N rose-gold plating. No less than 211 interior angles are bevelled and polished by hand.

The movement beats at 21,600vph with a 42-hour power reserve. The case is available in steel (CHF 62,000) or bicolour steel and rose gold (CHF 82,000). Each watch is fully bespoke — case material, colour, finishing, strap, buckle, and movement details can all be customized. Limited to 10–15 pieces per year.
