Nomadic Watches
Nomadic was founded in 2021 in Belfast by Peter McAuley, a former mechanical engineer who sketched his first watches in a spare room, and takes its name from the SS Nomadic, the Titanic's tender. Its stated mission is to put Belfast on the watchmaking map in the way the city's shipbuilders once put it on the industrial one. Every watch uses a Swiss movement and is built in the flagship store by three Belfast-born watchmakers who handle assembly, regulation, and finishing, behind a glass wall visitors can watch through. Recurring signatures include engraved casebacks, a custom rotor, and a bright yellow seconds or GMT hand that nods to the Harland & Wolff shipyard cranes. Nomadic is the official timing partner of the United Rugby Championship and the North West 200, and backs every watch with a lifetime guarantee conditional on a service every five years, 30-day free returns, and free shipping.
The Maraí 401 dive watch (Irish for 'Sea Farer') is the brand's debut; the 401 alludes to the Titanic being the 401st ship built in Belfast. The 2026 Edition comes in 40mm and 36mm Compact versions on the Sellita SW200-2 with a 65-hour power reserve, a sapphire crystal, a unidirectional ceramic bezel, and 200 metres of water resistance, in Emerald Abyss, Navigator White, Deep Ocean Blue, Crimson Dawn, Pitch Black, and Classic Black and Gold at US$1,350, a Blackout at US$1,595, and 18K gold Prestige versions at US$1,995. The Brú 750 is a 42mm Ti5 titanium deep-dive watch in Deep Ocean Blue, Pitch Black, and Emerald Abyss at US$2,495. The Turas 914, a 39mm Swiss automatic field watch, comes in Black Ice, White Out, and Landfall at US$1,350, with a Blackout at US$1,595.
The Fíor 555 is the GMT: a 41mm steel watch with a bi-directional ceramic bezel and a 24-hour scale, on the Sellita SW330-2 (56 hours of reserve, 25 jewels, 28,800 vph), whose yellow GMT hand tracks a second time zone. It comes in Shipyard Yellow, Pitch Black and Grey, Emerald Abyss, Crimson Dawn, Deep Ocean Blue, and Navigator White at US$2,095, a Blackout at US$2,395, and an 18K gold PVD Prestige at US$2,495. The Céad 126 is Nomadic's first chronograph, a 40mm steel watch with a tachymeter scale, 48mm lug-to-lug, 100 metres of water resistance, and the Sellita SW500-M-a (58 hours, 21 jewels), in Pitch Black, Navigator White, Emerald Abyss, Deep Ocean Blue, and Crimson Dawn at US$3,095. The 36mm Cíor 928 is an integrated-bracelet luxury sports watch in a Swiss automatic, in colourways including Ocean Blue, Mint Green, Navy and Gold, Black and Rose Gold, and Rosé Horizon from US$1,550, Starry Night and Mother of Pearl at US$2,295, and diamond-set versions at US$2,795–3,495.
